Upcoming Drum Clinic featuring Steppenwolf drummer Ron Hurst!Ron Hurst will be holding a drum clinic on Thursday May 20th at 7pm. The clinic will be held at the Walters Cultural Arts Center, 2 blocks east of MIR Music on Main St. in downtown Hillsboro. Ron will discuss and demonstrate various aspects
of drumming, including stick control to 4-way coordination, rudiments, reading, and various styles of music from rock to jazz,
Latin to funk. It should be fun, as well as informative! Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Cultural Arts Center, or at MIR Music. For more information,

MIR Music Student Recital - May 4thMIR Music is proud to announce the upcoming student recital to be held Tuesday May 4th, 6-8pm, at the Walters Cultural Arts Center (527 E Main St, Hillsboro). The event coincides with "First Tuesday" Come enjoy an evening of music performed by students from MIR Music. The performances will include works
on piano, guitar, violin, viola, cello, trumpet and saxophone. MIR Music supports student musical education by
providing lesson space to several excellent teachers including: Val Blaha (piano, guitar), Sharon Donaldson (violin, cello),
Patience Dunbar (violin, viola, cello), John Gross (saxophone), Daniel Hanley (piano), Ron Hurst (percussion, drums), Patrick
Nearing (trumpet), Austin Randle (guitar), and Krys Turner (guitar, bass, banjo). The event is free
and is open to the public.
