• Where are you located?  We're at 331 East Main St. in downtown Hillsboro, between 3rd and 4th Street.   Need driving/bicycling directions or information for the nearest MAX/Trimet stop?

 

• Is there parking? There is on street parking. Most customers can find a spot within a couple of blocks.

 

• How late are you open?   Our store hours.

•  What sorts of instrument repairs do you perform?  We work on Brass, Woodwinds, Guitar (acoustic and electric), Strings, and Percussion instruments.  For more information, please visit our repair page.

• I have an instrument that needs a repair.  How do I know how much it will cost?  Bring the instrument in to MIR Music. A repair technician will give you an estimate at no cost.  If we aren't able to give you an estimate on the spot, you're welcome to leave the instrument with us.  We'll call you with an estimate before we do any work. 

• Can you re-string my guitar (violin, etc.).  Yes -  we can restring any instrument.

•  How long does it take for a repair to be completed?  That depends on several factors including the extent of the repair, the number of instruments in line for repairs ahead of yours, etc.  If you have a special need (such as an upcoming performance), let us know.

• How will I know when my instrument is ready?  We will call you once your repair has been completed.

• Do you offer in-store lessons? How much do they cost?  We do offer lessons provided by several professional instructors.  All instructors set their own rates, but a 30 minute lesson will usually cost around $20.  Our current roster of instructors (updated 08/2012).

• How do we schedule a lesson?  Contact the teacher directly for all lesson scheduling.

• My student is coming to the store for lessons and we need to cancel.  Can we call the store to do this?  We encourage students to contact their teachers directly regarding all scheduling and payments.

•  Do you offer guitar classes? We do offer classes for beginning guitar students.  Checkout announcements of upcoming classes.
  

 

 Our "Rent" and "Rent-to-Own" Programs:

• My child wants to join band, but I don't want to purchase an instrument yet.  Can we rent one?  Yes - we have an extensive rental program with a large variety of instruments. To learn more, visit our rental page.

• What do we need for renting an instrument?  You will need to have 2 valid credit cards (Visa, MC, Discover or American Express), valid ID (e.g. driver's license) and a completed rental contract.

• How much does it cost to rent an instrument?  Rental rates are dependent upon the type of instrument, whether it's new or used, and value of the instrument. The range is $15 to $50, with most instruments about $20 to $25 per month.  To learn more, visit our rental page.

• Do my rental payments go toward purchase?  Our "Rent-to-Own" program allows a percentage of your rental payments to be applied toward purchase of most instruments.  For details please see our rental page or visit our store.

• Can I put an instrument on layaway?  Yes.  We offer layaway for short-term (3 months or less) purchases, or purchase contracts for longer term payment plans.
